New I'm a PC Ad: Windows 7 Was Your Idea
Microsoft released Windows 7 yesterday, and with it came a new ad for the company's I'm a PC campaign.
The theme of the latest installation is that Windows 7 is an operating system created by you, for you. Microsoft tells users that, since Windows 7 was created using user feedback, the operating system was actually our idea.
Sure it's not Kylie, the adorable, little, Asian kid who was on hand in September to show us all the "happy words" about Windows 7, but it does kind instill hope for all the folks who felt so hard done by by Vista.
What do you think of the latest ad?

I like that asian kid. I would like to hear more happy words to the background of hard rock music please.
As a huge proponent of FOSS who rages on both OSX and Windows from time to time, I gotta say I really like the commercials recently released by both companies. Simple, funny, and to the point.
I agree mcnuggetofdeath, I really like this commercial too.
If Windows 7 was really my idea, then where's the up-one-level button?! Also, where's the open source code and/or my payment for helping?
Hey, no anti-Mac propaganda, just the facts... I like it a lot.
Maybe the I'm a Mac crowd can learn a thing or two about how to make commercials...
This was that commercial that somebody thought they heard a girl in it drop the f-bomb and posted an article about it.

Personally, I just don't hear it.
@amdgamer666:
That's what they get for half-listening to the commercial. The girl is clearly saying 'frickin'.

Just makes it more natural...like what, you never said that in your life?
Meh, not that great of an ad. Wasn't a big fan of the new Apple one though. If I had to choose which one I enjoyed more, I'd pick this one.
anyone seen the one where the dude has nothing but Sony Vaio's all over his house. it like after the first 2 laptops they showed i was like "ok i get it your horing Sony in this commercial".
One more thing, you look silly if you say you're not anti-Microsoft or anti-Mac and then make a statement to the contrary.
That Asian woman if fine!

Why would it make one look silly? Most people who preface their comments with "I'm not anti-mac or MS" are simply trying not to trigger the defense mechanism of a bunch of frothy mouthed fan boys.
I think it makes sense to use that if you're attempting to make your comment as objective as possible.
I preferred the commercial of the man showing his home setup and how he could stream his movies and music to several different systems in his house. It's nice that an OS commercial actually talks about features for once.
Hah, I like that. +1 for MS marketing.
Kylie should be making millions if not so already...
maybe amd should borrow msofts marketing team???

didn't see any facts myself, but I like the upbeat approach and general message.
If Windows 7 was made for me, then where's my free upgrade? I didn't want a new OS. I wanted Vista improved into the OS Windows 7 claims to be.

and i bet you work at your job for free no ?
and you never make mistakes in life either . you`re living perfection
Honestly, if people don't know already which OS they want, and go by advertisements, they've already made a bad decision.
Even if Win7 was just a rebrand of Vista people would adopt it blindly.

Well said. Microsoft has smarter ads with actual people... Apple has ad's that try to make fun of microsoft and play on mis-information and peoples lack of understanding.
I really can't stand the mac ad's.
I like this commercial a lot. Only positive reinforcement , nothing negative in it like the usual Mac ads.

OMFG! She's an F-bomber! Send her to GITMO immediately!
sorry, Win2000 was the leanest and meanest. Didn't have all that bull crap to make it look all pretty. It's an OS and does just that. You want something to look pretty then you can add it yourself. 1GB install VS, 16GB install? If I could have DX10 or DX11 on Win2000 I'd still be using it.

Ah, if it only worked like it does on TV.

Very well said! Still have 2000 Pro running on a machine to play some old games with. It blazes on a lowly Celeron 420. Certainly faster than anything out today. But alas, MS had to kill it to keep the cash registers ringing.

I think MS should give a free copy of Win 7 Ultimate to all who bought Vista as a way of saying they're sorry. They could take the money out of Bill G's bank account since he was the big driver behind Vista, at least according to Ballmer.
It's like an adult vs a snobby teenager.
I'm sure you can identify which is which.
