Yezz Releases Water-Resistant 'Splash' Smartphone Feature

Yezz introduced a water-resistant line of smartphones, using a special coating feature dubbed “Yezz Splash.”

The Splash phones are coated using a plasma-enhanced vapor deposition, and according to Yezz, it offers optimal liquid repellency. The protective hydrophobic layer bonds to the surfaces of the completely-assembled devices on a molecular level, providing increased protection from corrosion and moisture. The nano-coating is unobtrusive and does not interfere with the functionality of the device; it goes on clear and stays dry (making it seem like Speed Stick for smartphones).

Currently, only the Yezz Andy 5Q offers the Splash feature. However, Yezz plans to make the feature available for the Andy 5T and additional phones in the future. The additional cost for having Splash added to a Yezz smartphone is $10 on top of the MSRP.

The Andy 5Q Splash features a 1.3 GHz quad core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage and 13.1 MP and 5 MP rear and front cameras, respectively. It comes preloaded with Android 4.4 (KitKat) and is compatible with AT&T, T-Mobile, Cricket, Metro PCS, Straight Talk and other GSM carriers.

The Yezz Andy 5Q with Splash is available now on Amazon for $129.
