I think you guys are fetching. PC gamers are laughing at those chasing the money. There are more PC gamers than console gamers. I find is laughable that NOW somebody realized than PC gamers ebb & flow and are more picky with what they buy, but when they do the game excusively with those titles.

I personally own an Xbox 360, PS3 and a Wii... yet I only have a few games for each (my buds bring them along when they come over (1 sale). Yet we all own computers and all play Everquest/Battfeild 2142/Starcraft/AoE, etc...

As a matter of fact we still play BF2142 almost every firday night for about 5~6 hours (12 hours a week) yet, we bought that game years ago.

PC games are more entertaining and last longer.... thus Oblivian style games are better suited for couch, not headphone/mouse professional style Battlefeild games.

Call of Duty was bought by almost everyone, yet it was too counsol'ish... so by many PC gamers, it just isn't played as much as older more in-depth games as the Battfeild franchise.

I think the one thing they should focus on as well is the OS. If Microsoft is involved why not propose a gaming edition of Windows? That way you can boot into an OS that is streamlined and written from the ground up. A 64bit OS that is made specifically for gaming. Just thing of the revenue that could generate for MS? The promise of solid gaming without the huge footprint that Vista creates when you load it?

Cheers!

Really like your idea of preinstalling older games on a new pc. I think that could be a great idea especially for companys like Dell and HP. Preinstall the older games so that the kids can play them and get into PC gaming. Increases their sales and they can throw a few bucks at the developers.

I noticed that they mentioned retail sales, not online sales. I worked for software etc 8yrs or so ago and we sold alot of casino and simple puzzle games to old people. Now they buy those or play those online for free.
