Some motherboard samples did not yet carry the chipset coolers and heat pipes, as the manufacturers are still finalizing their designs. The I38-MAX is the highest-end Intel X38 motherboard from Abit, carrying a digital voltage regulator.

The X38 QuadGT isn't really much behind, as it caters to the upper mainstream. It also has the digital PWR (Pulse Width Modulation).
