Biostar Introduces Hi-Fi H81S3 Micro-ATX Motherboard
By , - Source: TechPowerUp

After announcing its Hi-Fi B85N 3D Mini-ITX motherboard, Biostar has announced its new Hi-Fi H81S3 motherboard, which is a Micro-ATX motherboard based on the H81 chipset. While the motherboard might mostly be built to target budget buyers, it does feature some nice Hi-Fi audio goodies.

The motherboard sports two SATA3 ports, four SATA2 ports, as well as two PCIe x16 ports, one PCIe 1x port, and a pair of DDR3 memory slots. Of course, it features the LGA1150 socket, and thus offers support for Intel's new Haswell processors.

Audio wise, the motherboard features Biostar's Hi-Fi AMP, which is a little bit of circuitry aboard that is used as a headphone amplifier. Other 'Hi-Fi' labeled features include Hi-Fi Power, Hi-Fi Ground, Hi-Fi Resistor, and Hi-Fi Cap.

External connectivity is handled by a pair of USB 3.0 ports (with another two through a front I/O header), two USB 2.0 ports (and another handful through headers), VGA, DVI, Gigabit Ethernet, 2.1 analog audio, and a pair of old-school PS/2 ports.

There was no word on when the motherboard would be available, though we can expect a budget price point when it hits shelves.
