The Phenom X4 9100e is 23% slower than the classic dual-core Athlon 64 X2 6400+ and 8% slower than the smallest triple-core CPU.

The picture changes with multicore applications that allow the low-power Phenom to exploit its strengths: in this area, it not only consumes less power but is also considerably faster. This makes it evident that the Phenom X4 9100e is AMD’s most power-efficient CPU for multi-core applications. The next quad-core CPU in the row is the Phenom X4 9500, which, however, consumes 30 W more energy.
