Price Comparison: AMD More Expensive Than Intel
In the wake of Intel's massive price cuts, AMD's store prices do not look very attractive.

The cheapest dual-core processor from AMD, the Athlon X2 3800+, is just 13 dollars cheaper than Intel's high-class Pentium D 950 CPU.

Price comparison at a large internet mail order supplier.
If we perform a price comparison at a large Internet mail order supplier, we find that an AM2-Athlon 64 X2 4000+ costs just as much as a Pentium D 950. It should be clear that the AMD processor doesn't even the approach the computing power of the Pentium; AMD is thus a worse value for the money.
