Half-Life 2
Next up is a game that was the biggest title in 2004, and achieved success that carried over into 2005: Half-Life 2. The developer, Valve, designed the Source Engine that drives Half-Life 2. This title has the most realistic water of any game to date, and offers some serious "eye candy" for the gamer. Some of the work is offloaded to the CPU, making it a good test for the latest graphics cards as well as overall system performance. HDR was also added to Half-Life 2 and the Source Engine. We use a custom timedemo for this test, called DP_Coast_01.dem.
