The iTunes benchmark isn’t heavily threaded and the Core i3-550 does well in relation to the Core i5-750 here.
All three of our video encoding benchmarks make good use of threading. The Core i5-750 walks away with an easy win in this arena, and while the Core i3-550’s best overclocked result can’t quite reach the stock Core i5-750, it comes close.
