This is how the testing phase went:

The media we used were DVD+/-Rs 8x manufactured by HP, Imation, and Verbatim and DVD+/-RWs by the same manufacturers.

In the case of the BenQ, the only 16x on the market, we used a Philips DVD+R 16x.
For double-layer discs, we tried Verbatim and hp discs supplied by Imation.
There were no burning failures.
