Test Setup And Methods
The tests were run in four stages:
- CD playback (650 MB)
- - Min and max transfer rates
- Access times
- Audio extraction + DAE test - DVD playback (4.26 GB)
- - Min and max transfer rates
- Access times - CD burning
- - Time to burn a 650 MB CD-R
- Time to burn a 650 MB CD-RW - DVD burning
- - Time to burn a 4.5 GB DVD-R/ +R
- Time to burn a 4.5 GB DVD-RW/ +RW
We ran all the tests on blank Imation disks and thereby ensured equal quality of the disks and fairness in testing.
