The Economical Way to a Pentium 4 System: Five Motherboards with the SiS648 Chipset
AOpen AX45-8X Max, Continued
The little chip from Agere offers two FireWire ports.
Connect the cable, enable FireWire in the BIOS - done.
The ribbon cables included are too short to connect to drives that are high up in the case.
AOpen was one of the first manufacturers to include a quick start guide for installation with its motherboards. This was preserved with the AX45-8X Max.
Included with this motherboard are two CDs. On the first is Norton Antivirus 2002, and on the second is a complete set of drivers and numerous handy utilities.
The packaging has high recognition value and makes an impression. The motherboard in the middle, however, is only imprinted. Other boards from AOpen have a genuine vision panel.
