Fujitsu-Siemens D1527/ D1547: Made In Germany

You can purchase Siemens boards on the Internet or at the outlet in Augsburg, Germany.

Germany's only motherboard manufacturer sent not one but two boards to the test: the D1527 (internally known as "Dora" 1527) is based on the Intel 845GE chipset, while the D1547 (Dora 1547) builds on the Intel 845PE chipset. Siemens uses an identical layout for both boards, the only difference being in the CNR slot (D1547) and a USB connector (D1527). The company from Augsburg is still the figurehead of German engineering - besides, both boards make do with very few SMD components. Nevertheless, long-drawn-out testing and evaluation periods at Siemens also have their drawbacks, which existed even before the Fujitsu era; boards with new chipsets usually hit the market later than those from their competitors.
