Conclusion

As far as performance goes, the M9-DX Mini Pod certainly is an excellent piece of hardware. With the Hitachi hard drive that was pre-installed in our test sample, we achieved data transfer rates of up to 40 MB/s using Firewire/1394a and a bit more than 30 MB/s with USB 2.0.
The neatest part of the Mini Pod is clearly its design, which should appeal to both PC and Mac users, regardless of whether they prefer Macs or PCs. Indeed, the Mini Pod is a very capable external storage device that will surprise many who never thought storage could become stylish.
