In this department there's really nothing to write home about. Still, the dual DVI/VGA connectivity is a plus.
Hi-Fi
Our calibrator tests showed that the SDM-HS94 has excellent fidelity.

Obviously, since this is VA technology, the color fidelity is good, as are the viewing angles.
| Black spot | White spot | Contrast |
|---|---|---|
| 0.42 | 250 | 595:1 |
Unlike the X19, the SDM-HS94 has fairly deep blacks. Since brightness is (extremely) high, the final contrast is near 600:1. That's exemplary on more than one level.
It's a shame, though, that the brightness is so high at the optimum calibration point. We would have preferred a value of around 150 nits.

The contrast has very good stability, which means that the brightness can be lowered without losing too much detail in the picture, which is always a good characteristic. Sony has done very good work on this monitor. You can choose the brightness level that suits you and your working conditions without losing too much contrast.
