This flat card only takes up a single expansion slot. It is a good deal slower than the X1800 XT but still comes in ahead of the GeForce 6800 GT, Ultra or GS models. HIS decorates the card's cooler, which covers both the GPU and the memory modules, with a sticker bearing the company's logo. The Radeon X1800 XL features two digital DVI connectors as well as an HDTV / S-Video video socket.

The retail box contains HDTV, S-Video and RCA video cables, as well as a Vivo cable for video input and output. HIS bundles Power DVD 6 2ch as the card's software DVD player. A DVI-to-VGA adapter allows the use of a second analog display.
