High-End Headphones, Reasonable Price
Table of contents
- 1 – Introduction
- 2 – On The Graph And To The Ear

The first nifty thing about the EDS-200FW headphones is that they have a jointed headband that allows you to fold them to carry them with you in your pocket. Their weight is very reasonable and the cable is fairly thin, yet the headphones are robust and don't tangle easily. On the other hand, they're only equipped with a 3.5- mm plug and there's no adapter for 1/4" plugs.
Pleasant To Wear
The EDS-200FW is a supra-aural headphone set, which means that the phones sit on top of your ear. They have very soft cushions and the pressure they exert felt just about right. Wearing them was pleasant, which should mean you can wear them a long time without excessive fatigue. Their stability was fairly good, with the headband pressing on either side of your head. You feel the difference when using them with an MP3 player Compare Prices on Headphones.
This is a semi-open headphone set, which provides a low degree of acoustical isolation. You're not cut off from your environment, but on the other hand outside noise can interfere with your listening. MM Gear points to their use of a "two-way" system, with separate transducers for the low and high frequencies. However, we're a little dubious about how much of an improvement this approach can make, at least on a moderately-priced set of headphones like this.
