This is the most expensive all-in-one printer we include in this guide that lacks fax support. Instead, it uses six colors (CMYb with light cyan and light magenta, each with its own individual ink cartridge, for extreme color depth and accuracy) for printing and photo reproduction. Printing and copying speeds are somewhat low at 17 for black, and 16 for color, but what this unit lacks in speed it makes up in detail and accuracy. It's also one of the few MFC printers we cover that can handle 8" x 10" photo prints, as well as the more typical 4" x 6".

This large printer incorporates a full-size flat-bed scanner and 2.5" LCD.
With an emphasis on photo handling, the RX620 offers substantial photo preview, edit, and processing capabilities without requiring PC input. It can print directly from numerous types of memory cards including Compact Flash, SD, SDHC, minds, microSD, MMC, MemoryStick (Pro, Duo and MagicGate), Microdrive and xD-Picture Card. Cameras and cell phones must support either PictBridge or USB Direct Print to attach these devices for direct printing on the RX620.
The Epson Stylus RX620 works with Windows 98SE, 2000, Me, XP and Vista, as well as Mac OS X 10.2.8 through 10.3.9 or later versions. Epson includes Arcsoft and Photoimpression photo editing software for these operating systems as part of the bundle included with this photo printer, which normally retails for between $280 and $300.
Consumables for this printer cost around $13 for color cartridges, and $17 for black, with numerous multi-packs and bundles readily available. Likewise, lots of photo papers are available for the RX620 in various sizes and finishes.
