Conclusion: It's Blazing Fast!
Previous
Usually we are quite skeptical whenever a hardware manufacturer starts promoting exceptionally high benchmark numbers. Here, however, Memina has truly put together a memory stick that is far superior to most other Flash memory sticks out there. Thanks to Single Layer Cell NAND Flash memory, we can confirm read transfer speeds of up to 18 MB/s and write rates of around 15 MB/s.
At these speeds, we decided to compare the Pocket Rocket with conventional hard drive storage solutions. Although hard drives remain the only choice when it comes to capacity demands exceeding 4 GB, the Pocket Rocket can definitely compete in terms of transfer speeds and access time when smaller amounts of storage are required.
The Pocket Rocket is definitely one of the more expensive portable memory products. That becomes an issue if a decent price/performance ratio is something you care about. $150 is not quite a bargain, but it's an acceptable price for a memory stick that can be considered superior right now. If you can live without the Rocket Dock USB extension, the product will be $10 cheaper.
