Samsung HD300LD: UltraATA/100

Previous Next
6:58 AM - 12/21/2005 by Patrick Schmid

The UltraATA model is not much different from the model with the Serial ATA interface, but curiously delivers slightly slower performance. The root cause for this has less to do with the interface than with SATA support for Native Command Queuing, which extracts increases in efficiency from those drives where it's in use. Otherwise, the same stats also apply to the HD300LD as to the HD300LG - namely: 7,200 rpm, 8 MB drive cache and a 3.5" form factor.
