Global LCD TV 2005 market growth 116%

The global market for TFT-LCD televisions, in terms of units shipped, is estimated to have grown 116% last year to 15.05 mln sets, Beijing research house Analysys International said.

Abhi Talwalkar, vice president and general manager of Intel's Enterprise Platforms Group, detailed the firm's Xeon and Itanium processor roadmap in his keynote at IDF. The executive introduced a range of new code-named processors on Intel's roadmap, including multi-core Xeons and Itaniums.
