P4 will scale above 10GHz

scaling goes. The performance roughly doubles every 18 months or so (faster now but let's take this as a guide). We are at 1.7GHz now double it to 3.4GHz in about 18 months and again to 6.8GHz 18 months after that. Basically in 3 years we will reach ~7GHz....

one, a PII X3 720 BE overclocks very nicely (usually 3.6-3.8 range), however the PII X4 965 is pretty maxed out (600MHz more on air usually) Next you'll be telling me that Nehalem goes to 7ghz just like Phenom II does right? Had to quote the lostcircuits...

oh, thats a 1.4Ghz deficiency, but it beats it still, :O. BTW, an FX-57 @ 3.7Ghz, gets 21 seconds on superPI 1M, what did your nice 7Ghz P4 get? 10 minutes? Even if it got 20 seconds, thats sad it takes 8GHz to match 4GHz AMD, so sad...so sad.. EDIT: So...
