ATI to begin 80nm production at UMC later this year

In addition to scheduling 80nm production at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) for September, ATI Technologies will begin producing its graphics processor (GPU) on an 80nm manufacturing process at United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) in the second half of 2006, according to industry sources. -

Elpida to transfer 80nm and 75nm process technologies to PSC

Taiwan's leading memory maker, Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC), will receive technology licenses from Japan-based Elpida Memory for production on 80nm and 75nm nodes, according to a PSC filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) on July 25.
