performance ? Not Always , there are some games that dont take advantage of SLI or CrossFire , so you wont see a difference between 2 cards and 1 card in those games , but in games that take advantage of SLI or CrossFire , 2 cards will perform better than one....

call the card a flop, that is a bit excessive. The HD2900XT performs better than the 8800GTS in most games, loses in a few, and matches the GTX in a game or two. If I had $550AUD to spend on a vid-card right now, I'd choose the HD2900XT over the 8800GTS...
