the GA-8SG667 as examples. The P4S8X seems to be unstable with almost any kind of memory faster than PC2100, while the 8SG667 has proven stable with PC3200. The P4S8X seems to crash whenever you put an AGP8x card on it, whereas the 8SG667 is again stable....

by the time the 655 chipset comes out the 3.06 will be a little less pricey. Or he could get a 1.8 and a Gigabyte 8SG667 on the cheap, overclock it to about 2.4GHz and upgrade the whole thing later. But whatever your freind decides just make sure he gets...

a budget, the albatron px845pev or gigabyte 8sg667 (version 2 only with voltage adjustments). Both around $100, the gigabyte board may be hard to find. 8SG667 looks like a winner for clock speeds of roughly 166MHz and below. I don't know how far beyond that...

Sandra CPU Performance Rating

Rating for the CPU. I was wondering how they come about this number. Should that be the standard by which all CPUs, Intel or AMD, be rated? BTW, I'm using a Gigabyte 8SG667 with a 2.53GHz P4 overclocked to 2.81GHz and Samsung PC3200 DDR. I'm getting a...

QDR FSB Prescotts, both will benefit from DDR400 SDRAM memory. It's your world kid!!! Granit Bay does nothing for future upgradability except add Hyper Threading, something the i850 has has for years. 8SG667 is an SiS 648 board like the P4S8X but with a...

533mhz bus speed CPU and ddr400 ram = pointless??

their boards to support it, so SiS backed down and said it only supports DDR333, even though it still supports DDR400. Gigabyte was the only company to offer good, solid support for DDR400 on the SiS 648, with their 8SG667 board (later revised as the 8SG800)....
