  • Mobile CPU Charts 2007

Tom's Interactive Mobile CPU Charts focus on popular mobile processors, which are used in laptops and notebooks because of their increased energy efficiency. We tested nine AMD and Intel processors tested across 15 different benchmarks using Windows XP. Core 2 Duo is the dominating processor in the notebook/laptop space and AMD's Turion 64 X2 has become a budget option. However, all of these dual core processors deliver sufficient performance for mainstream applications. The Price/Performance Index relates US$ costs to the overall performance.

  • CPU Charts 2008 Q1/2008

Tom's Interactive CPU Charts offer the most comprehensive x86 processor comparison on the Internet. The 2008 edition includes as many as 91 AMD and Intel desktop processors, which we tested across 35 individual benchmarks under Windows Vista. The benchmarks include industry standard software as well as popular workloads across multiple application categories, allowing you to find the CPU that meets your requirements (see benchmark details below the charts). The Charts are also a valuable tool if you want to check how your computer stacks up against current hardware. The 2008 charts include three different processor generations, starting with AMD's Socket 939 Athlons and Semprons, and including all Pentium 4 and Pentium D processors that were released for Socket 775.

  • CPU Charts 2004

It's finally here - a true performance comparison between AMD and Intel processors. This will allow ambitious users as well as OEM partners and especially dealers to compare their systems with our reference values. What's special about this is a feature that it lets you directly compare two different CPUs of your choice. Simply select the desired models and a benchmark, and the appropriate chart appears. The two CPUs are displayed in the diagrams as specially marked red bars. Shown at the very bottom is also some important additional information: the absolute and relative difference between the two models. If you click on any of the bars on the chart, a pop-up window appears with data about that particular test configuration we used.

  • Intel Roadmap News 10/2000: Part Two, Intel's Future Mobile and Server/Workstation Products
    October 16, 2000 – 1:04 PM
Intel's recent roadmap for notebook products looks quite jolly. Already in the beginning of next year we will see the first Giga Hertz processor for mobile platforms and mobile Pentium III processors at up to 1.26 GHz will arrive soon afterwards as well. The workstation and server roadmap is not quite as interesting, except for the fact that Intel is counting a lot on 'Third Party' chipset makers to provide non-RDRAM platforms for those systems.
  • Intel's Next Paper Release: The Pentium III at 1133 MHz
    July 31, 2000 – 1:03 PM
After the shameful defeat in the Giga Hertz race Intel is now trying to leapfrog AMD. By squeezing the last bit of performance out of the well-known Coppermine core Intel created a very fast processor. The fact that it is the most unreliable and instable CPU Intel has ever released equalizes the fact that it will hardly be available.
