Retail prices for flat panel TVs (including LCD TVs and PDP TVs) from first-tier makers are getting cheaper, as Japan-based Sharp and Panasonic (Matsushita Electric Industrial brand name) are cutting prices for their products.
First-tier mobo makers: June shipments up 28 percent

First-tier motherboard makers Asustek Computer, Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS), Gigabyte Technology and Micro-Star International (MSI) collectively shipped about 7.9 million motherboards in June, up 27.8 percent from 6.18 million units during the same period of last year.
Second-tier mobo makers 1Q shipments down on-year

Among four second-tier motherboard makers, including Biostar Microtech International, Diamond Flower Electric Instrument (DFI), Epox Computer and Jetway Information, only Biostar saw an on-year increase in its motherboard shipments in the first quarter of this year, and even that growth stood at only 0.4%.
