in 32 bit land? I can't find many details on Barton- I read that although they will increase the L2 to 512KB, it will *still* be at the obsolete 133FSB. Anyone know how high clock speeds are expected to get on this? What about after Barton? The AMD roadmap...

the Barton to 2ghz without blinking, hardly consider it an o/c. The larger die cools better and the larger cache makes it a lock for me. Go for the Barton. -Brett Fine, barton it is. if you feel you will not overclock the tbred IS faster... Proud owner...

but I would be very surprised if it is not. Merely sticking your 8500 into your current PC will greatly enhance your gaming experience and the the processor is matched well for the card. The newer Bartons and 2Ghz+ cpus will spend time waiting for an 8500...
