All electric Mini Cooper does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds

The Mini Cooper is a nice little car that isn't exactly known for being a hot rod. Now a Hampshire, UK-based company has converted the Cooper into a hybrid electric car that can race from 0-60 mph in about 4 seconds. The company also claims the car can produce 640 bhp. -
Volkswagen does 150 mph - driver optional

Volkswagen is testing a robotic Golf GTi that blazes through the racetrack at up to 150 miles per hour. Using a combination of radar and laser sensors, along with a GPS system, the car is accurate to within an inch. VW engineers claim the car can drive faster and better than them at the test track in northern Germany. -

Microsoft's power drain bug patch: Does it work?

Not quite four weeks ago, Microsoft issued a patchfor a serious power drain issue in notebook computers that are running Windows XP SP2. Our engineers took a close look at the patch and its effects to find out whether Microsoft dropped a Q&D fix or if the company in fact resolved a problem that can reduce the battery running time in notebooks by up to 90 minutes.
