The launch of the nForce chipset a year ago did not bring about the success that NVIDIA had hoped for. It should be better this time, though, because its sucessor, the nForce2, contains technology of the highest level: dual-channel DDR400 and AGP 8x should give a bigger performance boost for PCs with AMD Athlon XP. Valuable features, such as a FireWire interface and two network controllers, are optional. Integrated graphics based on GeForce4 MX is also optional, so that the success of the chipset is not endangered by a high price tag. NVIDIA has done its homework - let's see if that's enough for top scores. -
