  • Desktop VGA Charts

Once again, we've updated the VGA charts with all of the latest cards on the market. The updated version includes a wealth of new information, as we've added a large number of new graphics cards from both Nvidia and ATI. From the Nvidia camp we've benchmarked the new DirectX 10 Geforce 8800 GT in both single card and SLI configuration, as well as the midrange Geforce 8600 GTS and low-end Geforce 8400 GS turbocache edition. On the ATI side, we've added the new DirectX 10.1 Radeons 3870 and 3850, and augmented the Radeon 2900 XT results with a crossfire configuration. We've also included the Radeon 2600 PRO and 2600 XT, both in single and Crossfire configurations as well. Finally, as the counterpoint for the 8400 GS turbocache, we've added the Radeon 2400 Pro hypermemory edition. While this might seem to be a large amount of information to soak in, our simple interface has proven invaluable to those of us who need to compare various graphics card performance in specific titles.

  • CPU Charts 2007

Tom's Interactive CPU Charts offer the most comprehensive x86 processor comparison on the Internet. The 2007 edition includes as many as 91 AMD and Intel desktop processors, which we tested across 35 individual benchmarks under Windows Vista. The benchmarks include industry standard software as well as popular workloads across multiple application categories, allowing you to find the CPU that meets your requirements (see benchmark details below the charts). The Charts are also a valuable tool if you want to check how your computer stacks up against current hardware. The 2007 charts include three different processor generations, starting with AMD's Socket 939 Athlons and Semprons, and including all Pentium 4 and Pentium D processors that were released for Socket 775.

  • Enterprise Hard Drive Charts

Tom's Interactive Enterprise Hard Drive Charts compare high-end server/workstation hard drives used in enterprise-class systems. The 15 benchmarks we used as a testing platform are the same as the ones featured in the other HDD Charts, but the interpretation of the data is different in the enterprise segment: Servers often depend on maximum I/O performance rather than on raw throughput. Of course, you can also check various other criteria: read and write throughput, sorted by average, minimum and maximum, access time, interface performance and four I/O benchmark patterns. You will find most of the popular enterprise hard drives made by Fujitsu, Hitachi and Seagate; all using either Ultra320 SCSI or SAS interfaces. Then there is the price/performance index which helps you select a particular drive, as it relates performance and capacity to cost of drive. If your company requires a large number of hard drives, this feature will enable you to make an informed and budget friendly decision.
