Nikon ships first immersion lithography system for 55 nm chip production

Nikon Precision today said that it has shipped the world's first production immersion lithography system.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) revealed that its immersion lithography program has produced test wafers well within acceptable parameters for volume manufacturing, according to a company press release.
CyberGlove key to more realistic movies and games?

Making realistic character animations for games and movies is tough work for graphic artists. Hand gestures are particularly difficult because of the hand's many joints and fingers. Motion tracking devices, such as Immersion Corporation's wireless CyberGlove II, help animators cut production times by allowing them to capture motion, instead of manually moving each digit. Company representatives brought the glove to our offices for a demonstration.
TSMC preps immersion lithography for sub-22nm wafer production

Having already commenced pilot runs on 65nm wafer production since last year, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is now readying immersion lithography for 22nm production, according to Burn Lin, director of lithography R&D at TSMC.
