Intels G965 chipset to deliver better 3D performance with next-generation graphics core

Intel's G965 will integrate the company's fourth-generation Graphic Media Accelerator (GMA) graphics core and deliver a significant increase in 3D gaming and multimedia performance compared to Intel's other chipsets with GMA 900/950 graphics processors, according to sources familiar with Intel's product roadmap. -
Intel's dual-core desktop processors to ship in Q3 2005

Intel provided system builders with a comprehensive update about its desktop, mobile and enterprise product lines for 2005 and 2006. According to documents seen by THG, Intel will launch its first dual-core desktop processor in the third quarter of next year; a mobile dual-core will follow in the first quarter of 2006. -

Day 0 of the Intel Developers Forum has just finished and we've now heard the company's new slogan of 'Carry Small Live Large' hundreds of times. Intel has firmly established market dominance since its Core Duo processors and now it appears the company will also go full-bore into MIDs or so-called mobile Internet devices. Those devices will require desktop-like power and connectivity and that will require CMOS level integration of network cards, wireless radios and other IO devices. Guess who is going to make all those new chips ... Intel of course. -
Intel's dual-core CPUs to set new record high in power consumption

Intel's upcoming dual-core processors once again will test the limits of power consumption. According to documents seen by Tom's Hardware Guide, the Smithfield CPUs are rated at a thermal design power of 130 watts, an increase of 13 percent from today's Prescott processors.
