Microsoft: A single license for a dual-core processor

Microsoft announced that it will continue its per-processor licensing model with the introduction of dual-core and multicore processors. Systems, which required only one software license so far, will not need an additional license, even if it will be equipped with a dual-core chip.
NEC in DDR2 license deal with Rambus

Rambus said it has signed a patent license agreement with NEC Electronics that allows the development and manufacture of memory controllers based on DDR2 technology as well as "future" Rambus developments.

We checked out Roadmaster's booth at CES today - although it didn't really fit the trend of most other in-car products around the show. While Roadmaster does not have a whole lot of entertainment products, it does have interesting Bluetooth technology devices and rear-view video camera systems. And then there was a programmable license plate frame.
Nvidia Reportedly Scores QPI License While Intel Gets SLI For X58 Motherboards

Nvidia has recently reached an agreement with Intel and received a Quick Path Interconnect (QPI) license enabling the company to design chipsets for Intel's next-generation platforms, according to sources at motherboard makers.
