Nintendo's Wii to be equipped with PixArt's multi-object tracking technology

Taiwan-based PixArt Imaging (PXI) on 12 May announced a strategic agreement with Nintendo to provide its multi-object tracking (MOT) technology for the controller of the "Wii" next-generation gaming console.

Nintendo applies for voice to text software patent

Nintendo of America filed for a patent to cover voice to text chat conversion. Patent application 20060025214 was filed in July 29, 2004 with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), but has only appeared on the agency's website recently. Nintendo believes that voice to text conversion could enhance online games by altering color and font size of text depending on the tone and amplitude of the speaker's voice.
STMicroelectronics sensors to be used in Nintendo's Wii

STMicroelectronics on May 9 announced that its three-axis acceleration sensors will be used to provide a motion-activated user interface for Nintendo's new home console, Wii.
New deal brings handwriting abilities to Nintendo DS
