the perfect GPU driver release for your hardware and roll back to WinXP, even though you can run Win7 on your hardware, doesn't mean it will perform well at all. What is the performance score Win7 is rating your computer at? That should tell you something...

recalculate your score. It may be because Win7 does not have the 5870 coded in yet. I know for hard drives, it looks for SSDs and caps your score around 6 if you don't have one. It seems reasonable it may do this for GPUs too (we'll need more info to see)....

slow down my system, but actually is running pretty fast even with this wrong low score. I installed W7 in a much old machine using an old HD drive and the score was 3.9, much higher than my new machine with new disk drive. So it's not the the new score...

score you can get in win7 is 7.9 while in Vista its 5.9 so youre not far off maximum. I was getting lag spikes on my p5q pro in win7(using vista driver) and Vista as well, I assumed the driver was buggy but since Im using XP everyday and it works perfect...

your SSD manufacturer as well. I reread... Problem is with XP x64 too. Sounds like poor driver support. Again, contact your SSD manufacturer and Adaptec. Could you test with ATTO please, and show me both the score you get on Win7 (poor) and on XP (good)....
