Kingston Technology, the world's top third-party DRAM module maker, has informed ProMOS Technologies and Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC) that it is willing to purchase additional capacity for DDR chips if the makers' migration to DDR2 chip production is not going smoothly, according to DRAM module makers. -

IBM to build content protection technology into processors

BM today announced a hardware-based technology that is squarely aimed at preventing the unauthorized use digital content on consumer electronics medical devices and defense systems. Built directly into the processor "SecureBlue," the technology promises to provide much more robust content protection than software-based DRM systems available today.
