fan started spinning all the time again. And it spun all the time while I was in the game. Once I quit the game, the fan started to spin once or twice every second again. I always thought the CPU should be constantly spinning but this changes my opinion....

far.. Plan on taking it to work with me tomorrow and stress testing it. On my desktop the fans spin all the time and if the CPU fan ever stopped it wouldn't be good for my system at all ! Not used to the fan not spinning all the time, but from reading...

on the power supply unit does not spin. But it gets really hot. Is it supposed to spin all the time, or only when needed? Though I guess it's not working, since it does get hot, and doesn't spin even then. And even with power off, the fan does not spin...

see if you can restart & enter the Bios, if you can do that then you're saved. What's happened is the GPU fan stopped spinning some time ago, the OP didn't notice or hear any problem so he didn't check. The GPU has now failed as he is getting no signal...

is a noisy bugger. but if i tell windows to turn the drive off when not in use, then they both turn off and im stuck with rediculus spin up times for my primary harddrive. is there a way, or better yet a 3rd party utility to only spin down the slave hdd...
