Infineon supplies RFID chips for US passports

Infineon is the first company to announce a major contract to supply RFID chips that will be integrated in US passports. The chips will carry digital copies of the citizen's picture as well as the printed documentation in the passport. Infineon promises that more than "50 individual security mechanisms" are protecting the data saved on the chip.

Thermaltake Technology announced the launched of its new line of Purepower RX series ultra-low noise power supplies incorporating the ultra-silent 140 mm fan found on Thermaltake's high-end Toughpower Series power supplies.
Intel touts direct DC power supplies for power savings

It should come as no surprise that server computers use a lot of electricity, but Intel's CTO Justin Rattner says much of that power is wasted. Speaking at IDF, Rattner said direct current power supply units - the ones that do not need AC power - could save an extra 14% over existing high-efficiency PSUs. A prototype DC PSU shown at the event achieved more than 90% efficiency.
