DDR400 or something slower? The best 3DMark05 score that I've gotten on my socket 478 system is about 5500 and that is with a X800GTO unlocked to 16 pipes and a Northwood C overclocked to 3.5GHz. I think the memory performance is a limitation on this platform...

oops: When I responded, I wasn't thinking about the power requirements. Oops! I would suggest the x800gto too. I have it sitting in an old dell 4550 with a 2.4ghz northwood and 1280 mb ram. I also unlocked the extra 4 pipelines with the help of Scougs....

as scaleable as the Northwood. Now you see why I suggest you get a good mobo and ram, and use your tbird untill the axp arrives, or even the barton, because the good benifits of the northwood, will be even better on the tbred due to the ability to unlock....

FT: Northwood ES. I don't have any spare Socket 478 boards, and since they're no longer current products, won't likely get one. But I do have this Northwood Engineering Sample, unlocked from 16x to 22x, to trade someone. I'd prefer some kind of Socket 754...
