The GX-S series is fully compatible with the latest PC technologies, supporting the newest specifications of ATX12V, and is created for use with current and next-generation multi-core CPU platforms. It also supports multi-GPU technology, including PCI Express 2.0 next-generation graphic cards with 8(6+2) pin PCI-E connectors.

Capacitors are one of the most crucial components in computer equipment and the Cougar GX-S series uses highly durable Japanese capacitors to provide uncompromised performance and reliability.
Cougar Vortex Fan Technology
Fans are another important component and the GX-S series uses Cougar Vortex fan technology, Cougar's patented design for optimum cooling efficiency, and super-silent performance with Cougar's special-integrated air-inlet design.
Cougar’s Vortex patented fan technology has a unique design with which the high-vortex airflow that is powered by a turbine blade and frame can provide optimum cooling efficiency. This leads to a reduction of the fan speed and extremely quiet noise levels. The temperature-controlled design adapts its rotating speed to the PSU temperature. Even on its highest rotating level, the fan is still quiet enough to be barely noticed.

Dual Rail Technology
Lastly, the rails in a PSU also heavily determine the quality of a unit. The Cougar GX-S series sports Dynamic Dual-12V rails. The automatic dynamic load distribution on the dual-12V lines provides power separately to the GPU and the CPU. If you are not using all output lines, the PSU automatically reroutes needed power from unused lines. This improves the performance of the 12V lines considerably for systems with high-end graphics cards in SLI or CrossFire mode and provides high-voltage stability for better component protection.
Safety Features: OCP, SCP, OVP, UVP, OPP, OTP
UVP (Under-voltage protection)
If the voltages fall below a certain tolerance value on the single lines, the PSU automatically switches off.
OVP (Over-voltage protection)
If the voltages increase above a certain tolerance value on the single lines, the PSU automatically switches off.
SCP (Short-circuit protection)
In case of a short-circuit, this feature prevents damage to the core components of the PSU and its system components.
OPP (Overload protection)
If the system is oversized and requires more power from the PSU than it can perform, this protection function is activated.
OCP (Over-current protection)
If the load on a single line is higher than indicated, the PSU automatically switches off.
OTP (Over-temperature protection)
If the temperature is too high, the PSU automatically switches off.
