A keen nozzle-head has dramatically sped up their 3D printer using the portable power of a Nintendo Switch. Cocoanix 3D Printing shared a video earlier this week demonstrating the Switch-powered acceleration of their venerable Prusa MK3S. Instead of taking 90 minutes to output the famous standard 3DBenchy tugboat model, the Nvidia-accelerated MK3S took a brisk sub-nine minutes. Should you repurpose your Switch to accelerate your 3D printer? That, of course, depends…

Awesome! I wonder if this could speed up my old Replicator 2?

Nice! I was a bit relieved when I read it was originally CPU bottlenecked, I thought they'd just cranked the motor speed or whatever way up when I saw the title (which would be impressive but just like turning a car into a dragster probably not great for the longevity of the printer.)

Hello. Your math is wrong. 90 minutes to 9 minutes is a 10x increase In performance. Which is not 90% it's 1000% (better headline?)

If the original 3d printer took 90 minutes for 1 print. The 9minute printer can make 10 prints in 90 minutes. So it is 10 times faster than the original!

It's both 10 times faster and 90% reduction in time.

One is speed comparison, the other time reduction. The topic wrongly refer 90% to speed.
