Is my graphics card causing audio interference in my speakers?

I built a new computer and when I plug my desktop speakers into it I hear this constant, faint, high-pitched screeching noise and it won't go away.

I've read around the internet and it sounds like it has something to do with EMI interference from the graphics card and some other technical terms I don't really understand.

I've tried using FurMark and playing games, and graphics-intensive tasks definitely has an influence on the audio interference to my speakers. Any idea how I could remedy this?

My specs:
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
Gigabyte 970A-UD3 Mobo
Gigabyte HD 7950 Gpu

I will have to try this when I get a chance. Here's what I DO know:

- Other audio works perfectly fine. I can listen to music and everything, but the screeching is still there, just not noticeable.

- The screeching problems began before I installed any audio drivers and they persist after getting the latest drivers.

- I've tried plugging the speakers into different outlets and such, no luck.

- I don't hear any screeching when listening with headphones.

- There's no screeching at the BIOS screen, it starts when the system starts to boot into Windows.

- Onboard audio drivers are from VIA.

- These are pretty old speakers (maybe around 10 years old) but I've never had a problem with them on my old computer (which was bought around 2007-ish)

- The screeching gets louder if there's something graphical going on on screen, this includes moving the mouse wheel while on a web page.

- I've tried uninstalling the software that came with the mobo, e.g. EasyTune6 and so on.

Definitely VIA audio. You may be confusing it for the 990FX-UD3, which is Realtek. The 970A uses VIA audio, I made the same mistake yesterday and already tried the Realtek drivers.

I think you may be onto something. I tested the speakers by plugging them into a different computer. No problems.
I tested the new computer by plugging in a different set of speakers. Also no problems.
What would 'rerouting' it involve? Different outlet?
