Cannot print a pdf file. It opens as 'save as' instead

Hi all community members,
Here is the environment I work:
a) win 7 64 bits; b) pdf995;c) Adobe Reader XI; d) Printer HP Color CP1215;
After some downloads (I don't remember which one exactly) all stop to work.Every time I click to 'Print' it asks to save the file instead.
I'm googling over internet since 2 days. No solution to my problem.
Is someone else faced this situation in the past?
I'll appreciate your help.

Always possible but I don't think. I used the adwcleaner procedure. More, no virus detected. The computer is protected by avast and AVG antivirus. Probably, they don't detect the faulty virus.Anyway, ready to try something else.

It give a .prn file. But don't see where to select the printer when the 'save as' window opened. Anyway, the printer were previously selected.

I have found solution for this problem!!!!..... I have Epson WorkForce 545... when you click "Print" on a PDF file and "print settings" window appears click on "Advanced" and then UNCHECK "Print to file" > klick "OK" and PRINT AWAY APPILY!!!

the "print to file" check box was not my problem. Instead, it was this:
I had recently installed an Adobe Acrobat update, which had [without warning] de-selected my Brother printer as the default !!
It had instead invented a new "virtual printer" called Adobe-which was ticked as the default. This had the effect of allowing print to file only, but only for PDFs.
