so tomorrow im gonna buy a 240 gb ssd for my dekstop and i decided to buy a kingston hyperx3k, and i know i will get a cloning software from the disk, anybody knows how to use it? and do i have to reinstall my bios and windows?

Solution
1)the cloning software will alow you to select which of the drives ( in your case C of course) to clone
2)it's already set to ahci as you said above. power off, plug the ssd, your current windows will recognize it - will probaly ask for a restart, use the cloning software to clone the C drive to the ssd, when all done, go to bios, switch boot order, optional power off, unplug the hdd make sure everything works ok with ssd only. - you will have only the previous C drive basically. when you're happy power off again and plug the hdd back in.
3)when done, the new C is actually the one on the ssd and the previous C from the hdd will be d or e or smth, you can format that partition and alocate the space into another partition, or keep it for...
then no, you're set to go. get the cloning software, clone the hdd to sdd, switch them up in the bios boot order. after that, clean up the os from the old hdd.

and i misstyped above, ssd-s get recognized also without ahci, however with ahci they get the trim enabled and can live longer

2. so i plug my ssd then go to bios, set it to ahci then insert the disk and run the cloning and clone my c drive after that reboot and go to bios and switch the boot option?
3. how to clean an os? sorry im a noob

4) with ahci and trim enabled they are built to last at least 5 years on an average 20gb written / day. yes, they can sustain fewer writes compared to the hdd but in theory if you are careful with it and monitor the ssd writes from time to time you should never get near the limit.

what settings should i use for the hdd when i formated it?

Macrium Reflect Free if you have issues with the other software:
http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

SSD:
I recommend the Samsung 840 EVO instead.
The Samsung Magician software is really great and the drive is very reliable. As for LIFE expectancy, it's a non-issue for wearing out. Like any device it could fail but it should last longer than a hard drive. It could easily last ten years.

Using:
1. Attach the SSD
2. SATA to AHCI (you said it ways already?)
3. CLONE
4. Remove HDD for now
5. Boot and test (may need to change the Boot Order in the motherboard BIOS)
6. Apply overprovisioning to the SSD, and update its firmware
7. Once you're satisfied, attach the HDD, FORMAT it (make sure it IS the HDD not the SSD)
8. Make a backup IMAGE of the SSD to the HDD

i was going for the samsung 840pro but my local store ran out of it ,and the kingston is pretty good too, do you have any other suggestion?

I recommended the Samsung 840 EVO, not the Pro.

I don't have any other suggestions, plus I don't know what your store has in stock. Since the EVO plus the Samsung Magician software works so well, why not order it online? It should only take a few days.

It's Boxing Day now, so you may find sales but don't get a lesser quality brand if you aren't saving much.

The 256GB Samsung EVO is about $160 (USA link): http://pcpartpicker.com/part/samsung-internal-hard-drive-mz7te250bw

i did go for an evo in the end lol it should be arriving tomorrow and i think evo only has 250 gb for the 200ish size

That is good! The Evo is a great product!

Before it arrives, do a little preparation:
1) Clean up your existing C: drive by deleting unneeded files and uninstalling unneeded programs. You want to get your existing C: drive down to no more than 225 GB to be cloned to the SSD.

2) Go to the Samsung website and D/L and install "Data Migration" software. This is Samsung's cloning software which works quite well. DO NOT use the copy that comes on the CD with the new SSD because it may not work! http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/samsungssd/downloads.html

Good luck!
