Purchased an ASUS GTX770 from Newegg and my HP doesn't recognize the card. Newegg said no return on the card so maybe someone out there has a solution.
The card is ASUS GTX770-DC2OC-2GDS here's the Newegg link http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121770&Tpk=14-121-770
My desktop is: HP Pavilion HPE h8-1380t, Intel i7-3930k, WIN7 Professional 64 bit. Motherboard: Pittsburgh Pegatron IPIWB-PB, updated BIOS Ver 7.06 Rev A 2013-05-30. HP 600W ps with a Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX graphic card.
The problem: with the GTX770 I get the blue HP Welcome screen for 5 seconds, two beeps and then a blank screen with a flashing cursor in the top left corner of the screen.
What I've tried to fix it, I changed the power supply to a Corsair 650W and yes I put the 6 pin and 8 pin connectors on the card. I've tried both PCI slots. I took it to a computer repair shop and they couldn't fix it, yes the card works in another computer. I tried both Nvidia and HP support with, of course, no help. I searched the Internet and the best answer I found is the BIOS doesn't support the card. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Solution
I have the same IPIWB-PB motherboard in my h8-1280 and tried to add a Gigabyte GTX-750TI video card. Experiencing the same exact symptoms. This hang-up has something to do with the BIOS, even BEFORE Windows starts. When I have the Original GTX-550TI in the primary PCIx16 slot and the GTX-750TI in the second slot -- I can enter BIOS setup. On one of the BIOS setup screens I DO see a NEW option -- to select which video card will be Primary. If I select the new GTX-750TI to be primary, then upon saving BIOS settings and rebooting I, the screen that says "Hit Escape to enter BIOS setup" gets stuck there and Hitting Esc or anything else does not respond. At that point I have to power-down and pull the 2nd card to get the original...

I suspect that HP deliberately put some program logic in the BIOS to prevent people from using ANY video card they did not supply. My guess is that only an updated BIOS, removing the restriction code, (perhaps from Pegatron) could remedy this situation. For now, I've given up the idea of this upgrade and have used the new card in another system with a MSI motherboard -- works fine. I've learned my lesson, don't ever buy HP again.
