Ok so I recently built my first pc. And now I have gotten to installing my OS, which is windows 8.1 64 .
I have a asus maximus vi formula OC motherboard.
My problem:
After setting up my BIOS, I tried to install my windows 8.1 64 OS, so after inserting my disc I went through the regular boot, and them came the windows 8.1 logo, after a few seconds the BSoD flashed onto my computer screen and stayed on there for half a second, not even giving me enough time to read the message and then my system restarted. So what could be the cause of this problem, and how do I fix it? Thank you.

Solution
make sure the motherboard has the newest bios file. use the usb flashback port if not and turn on xmp profile under the aus ai tab. also with the newer x87 and x97 mb you may have t turn off secure boot and make sure legacy boot is on.

Thank You. Yea, though I don't know if I turned of secure boot or not, changed something in the boot settings and it worked. Know I have Windows 8.1 installs. Thank You Again, :)
