I have a Seiki 4k TV and Radeon HD6800. Both are specified to support UHD and TV came with 'UHD' HDMI cable. Loaded all latest drivers. Just wont allow 3480 x 2160. Has anyone had similar problem??

Thanks for that. Yes I see that UHD is something else. What I have bought is 3480 x 2160 (4K) at 30Hz HDMI 1.4 which is what the Seiki TV's do and I need a better graphics card to provide it.
Do you know which TV's have 4k@60Hz and HDMI 2.0?

Solution
Yeah, your GPU can't support more than 2560 x 1600 resolution, so that's why it won't display 4k. Also, Seiki 4k TVs can only support up to 30Hz, that's why they're so cheap. I'd get a TV with HDMI 2.0, but if you do, you'll have to get the gtx 970 or 980 to display 4k@60Hz, they're the only GPUs out there that has HDMI 2.0. Or get the new gtx 960 which also has HDMI 2.0, but you won't be able to game with it too much since it only has a max of 2 GB of VRAM. Display port won't work for you because there are no existing DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 cable or adapter that actually works at 4k@60Hz. The only other option other than getting through HDMI 2.0 is to get a TV with display port, which will cost you even more at the end, because my TV is...

There is no such thing currently as a QHD HDMI cable (that i know of yet). This would be HDMI 2.0 which i know at minimum the HD6800 does not support. UHD is not 4k, HDMI can do QHD but only at 30 Hz. only DisplayPort can do the QHD resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate. You may be able to get the ATI card to push the 4k resolution if you drop the refresh rate, if it has display port then i would try using this instead.

So that's all of your options, obviously the HDMI 2.0 route is cheaper if you want to go with that to use 4k@60Hz.

Yes, there is an LG UHD TV I think that has HDMI 2.0 for like $700-900? Only the GTX 970 and 980 has HDMI 2.0 on them, so those are your only GPU options.
