since the first time i have started my computer it's showing a error message "cpu fan error".when i started my comp i connected the cpu fan cable of nzxt kraken x61 in the cpu fan slot but that message showed and i saw that the pump was not working(bcz temp was increasing rapidly and reached almosr 83C)so switched it to cpu fan optional and everything is working fine still every time i start my comp it shows that error message.it's been two days and i have kept ignoring it...what should i do??keep ignoring it??or is it some serious deal??
my mobo is asus maximus viii hero and cpu i7-4790k and cooler nzxt kraken x61

Solution
The MoBo is lookin' for your fan to be spinning at a certain rpm .... that being of the Intel stock cooler. When you replace that with a 3rd party cooler, you need to go into the BIOS and set the rpm that triggers that message to a number that is appropriate for the fan / pump you are using.

hi, i had the same problem. nzxt support explain this problem (http://support.nzxt.com/hc/en-us/articles/202758690-RPMs-not-detected-with-CAM-or-Kraken-Control) basically, of the four fan connectors, just one have all four pins. The one with the four pins sends the rpm fan information and tells the motherboard a cpu fan is connected (that is why, in my case, an asus warning was sayin that there is no cpu fan). Pluggin this four pin connector solved my problem. When you do this, also try to put in "monitor" (not in ignore) the cpu fan, the UEFI also has to recognize the rpm. Sorry for the bad english.
