When i try to connect to my Virgin Media Superhub 2 using an ethernet cable it stays on 'limited access, unidentified access. I just get the yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside it next to the wired logo. This started yesterday without any warning and it currently still persists.

I have tried:
Changing my MAC address
ipconfig /release
ipconfig/renew
updating drivers
downloading fix it software
checking my ISP
Changing TCP settings

I don't know what the problem is because i can connect to the superhub through wireless but cannot through a cable. Also, no other devices are suffering from the same issue.

Solution
ok first thing first, you should disable your wireless if your going to connect with a cable or you might get an IP conflict. Then you might want to know that Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address. . : 169.254.80.201(Preferred) means your not getting an IP from your router. An IP address in the range 169.254.xx.xx is called an APIPA address and its an internal auto assigned address.

If I were you I would disable all the NIC cards you have except your Ethernet adapter and then reboot both router and PC and see it your are getting an IP from the DHCP.

do you get an IP address in the range of your router and can you see your device connected to the router when viewing the advanced settings of you router when looking at <<Device Connection Status>>. If so, you could try to check if your able to reach the internet by IP instead of DNS, or just flush the DNS cache on your computer.

What you could do also, if this feature is possible is manually reserve an IP address to your MAC from the router and do a complete manual TCP/IP configuration on your computer and see if that resolves your issue.

You are trying to use a combo modem/router. If your internet provider has NOT provisioned it, it will NOT work. To have it provisioned, call the internet provider. 2nd part is your computer should be getting a valid ip address. possible the computer might have an issues with the ethernet card. you could try resetting it. open dos in administrator mode and type in netsh int ip reset then hit enter. That should get 3 ok messages, then restart computer. Check ip address again.
